Black oxidation
Classic black oxide layer on stainless steel — a cosmetically uniform finish with moderate corrosion protection. Well suited to tools, mechanics and precision parts. This treatment is third-party approved.
Application
Black oxidation is a chemical conversion process that forms a thin black oxide layer on stainless steel. The layer's primary purpose is cosmetic — a uniform, classic black finish — but it also provides moderate corrosion protection, particularly when post-treated with oil or wax.
The treatment does not change the dimensions of the part and is therefore well suited to precision parts, tools and mechanical components.
